I thought a standard school camp was hell enough … this is a whole new level. And no wonder you’re so good at everything you do now, having survived the Slushies!!!
I like the idea of no-one standing on the sidelines and the discipline of just showing up, doing your thing, when there’s no applause. It speaks to identity for me. I was asked to write a “bio”. I started with Carolyn is a… and then stopped because I’m not working atm so it didn’t feel right to say my profession and my kids are all grown up, so it didn’t feel right to say mother - which still feels the most natural thing to say, interestingly. So what are the things that I show up and do when no-one’s watching and applauding? And I did think about writing but I’m not quite ready to claim that yet. Soon, I hope.
Also, how does one get the job of Slushie? Is there a recruitment website I can go to?
lol - I know right?!! I actually think they were past participants (!!)
